getting to grip with this little car and it's faults....
i noticed that there's been water in the rear headlining in both corners. I'm blaming that on the high level brakelight gasket, could it also be the tailgate hinge gaskets...if it has those?
is the high level brake gasket available seperately, as I'd have thought toyota would be giving thse away like confetti by now.
or shall i get the silicon sealant out and run a bead around the existing gasket?
Guys,
Can anybody direct me step by step how I could wire up some Ring automotive drl lights I fitted to my front bumper a year ago but havents got around to figuring out how to wire them up, I'd really like to achieve this by myself than pay a technician!
These are the lights I have..
And this the wiring kit i bought last year but i cant find the instructions in the box, think I've lost them, hence i have no clue!
And that's where I'm at guys. So frustrating!
By the way ideally I'd like them to come when I switch my side lights on if possible AND install without running a seperate switch run in to the cabin area...i dislike the look of the switch in the contents box!
I spent the day yesterday wiring up genuine toyota wiring for some original fog lamps I bought on ebay, bought the wiring kit from my dealer, that was easy thanks to their easy follow instructions and pre wired plugs etc
Thank you in advance guys
hi,
A friend of mine with a aygo mk1 (2008 i think) asked me for advice on an good anti-theft device.
My idea is put a relay in the negative or positive of gasoline pump and drive the relay with a hidden switch or a remote controller, but i have to know some informations
1) how many cables there are in the pump power plug? Is it easy to find the negative or the positive?
2) how many amps does the pump absorb?
3) is there a hidden space where i can install the relay?Because i can install it near the plug but is better if it is in another e more hidden place.
Of course, if you have any other good ideas about a good anti-theft device, just say, I read with interest.
Hi guys
Would like to ask, is it normal on these Aygo's to have to replace your rear light bulbs every...say...4 or 5 months ?
Had to swap one out this morning...still waiting for the sensation in my hands to return an hour later! Anyway...this is the old bulb...why is it so black ?
Hi all
I’ve had my Toyota Aygo since around 2011 (made in 2008) and on and off I’ve had problems with rainwater getting in through the back windows, making the back seats wet and also water sitting in my spare wheel area, also making the material in the boot wet. My car was recently was recalled to have the seals on the back windows replaced so I was hoping this would help. However, today I’ve noticed the back seats are wet again and there is water sitting around my spare tyre.
Is this a common or known problem or unique to my car? If anyone else has had this problem, how did you rectify it please?
Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi. I have a 2015 Aygo and I’ve noticed after some town driving the clutch will start to judder when taking off. It’s not violent but defo noticeable. Mileage is 24k and clutch has never been changed
I collected my new to me little white 2010 Aygo today! The vendors, a youngish Portuguese couple, bought it new, for Mme to drive. Early this year she was given a company car, and the idea was their son was destined to take it over. Hence in Feb the new suspension, new alloy wheels and tyres. Seems he then decided dad was going to help him restore a Mk 3 Golf instead. Poor decision but lucky for me!
The car is totally immaculate, showroom clean inside and out, and when I asked if it had the usual leaky rear end, I was told it had, but no more.
The 3rd brake light and the bumpstops were responsible, so siliconed and now it's 100% fixed.
I've hears reviewers bitching about "the gearbox" by which they meant selection wasn't to their liking.
On this one, it's a really good box, I was pleasantly surprised, half expecting either stiffness through the gate, or rubbery vagueness, but it's as good as an Imp based racer. Nicer than an Elise.
I found the front brakes surprisingly noisy....thought I'd picked up grit in them initially, but I think it's more likely lack of acoustic insulation.
I started with 2 bars on the fuel gauge and 125km later we stuck 29€ worth in the car we'd arrived in, a Mondeo 1600 TD, but the Aygo still showed 2 bars. Later it dropped to one, and was flashing, so I put 10 litres in, and it then went to 4 bars.
This is meaningless of course, but encouraging.
Tomorrow I'll fill it, zero the trip (I now know how to) and then see how much it takes to brim full in a few days time.
It's a very base spec, has split rear seat, but almost zero electronics, no bad thing, no aircon, no bad thing with 60bhp, and no GPS. Irritatingly it has no glove box door....can this be retrofitted?
For me, it's a modern Fiat 500, or Mini-Cooper (S?) in concept, and feel. Eco-fun!
I really am seriously impressed and now just need to control myself to keep it as that, and not go bananas and turn it into a blown Yoshimura TT.
Calm....calm....think Zen....
Watch this space....;~ ))
On the 2014 Toyota Aygo x-pression I have bought for my daughter, is there any way to have the auto headlight function turn on/off and activate the DRLs accordingly ?
For safety reasons I'd like my daughter to have the DRLs on during daylight all the time, but once she finds out about the auto headlight function, I think she will never use the DRLs.
Not sure why Toyota have done it this way in the first place !!
Now that I have the new Aygo for my daughter, I want to stick in a spare wheel, as this car came with none.
Is the spare for a Aygo a full size spare or a space saver ?
Ideally, a genuine Toyota one, with wheel, tool tray, tools and the wheel securing nut, so its securely fitted.
Toyota will probably charge about £200 for this, has anyone any ideas or alternatives ?
Thanks
Just like my Toyota Rav, when locked, there is the usual red flashing light on the dash, can't seem to see one on the Aygo....is there one and if so where....is it on the front of the dash next to the windscreen where the sensor is for the auto lights ?
Hello all..
I have just bought 2005 Toyota Aygo (1.0 petrol engine) for my girlfriend and I don't really know very much about this car. I know it has a chain distribution and despite searching for information about it on this forum, I couldn't find any. The car has about 180.000 km on-board and I was wandering if it wouldn't be a good time to change the chain distribution on the car. I don't know the service intervals for this chain distribution. Can anybody tell me where I can find that information?
I will change the Oil and all the filters very soon, but I don't know about the distribution. I have searched on the internet and I'm getting mixed and contradictory information about it. Some people say, since it's chain not belt, you don't have to change it ever... others say you have to change it after 300.000 km... I can't seem to find the "informed answer"..
Thanks, Cristian
I reckon this has to be a good move, as my reversing is definitely not as good as my forwarding.....or frontwarding, for the picky.
I reckon I'm in good company though, the great '60s Lotus Grand-Prix driver Jim Clark was the King of the Circuit, but fairly random as a normal everyday road driver....apparently having problems parking, or remembering simple directions, on one occasion being unable to decide between going right or left at a Y junction which was very near the family farm in Scotland, to the point that he ended up taking neither, and ending up in a hedge instead.
I was obliged to fit a kit on my LWB Citroen Jumper van, and it's incredibly good value, as they are almost free on the interweb.
It may seem absurd on something the size of an Aygo, but better safe than embarrassed I say.
I seem to have 3 spare kits so might as well use one. I'll make sure the two outer emitters point slightly outwards to give wider coverage.
I'll take some pics of the process.....anyone know how the rear plastic bumper piece is removed? I'm guessing the two elegant pole-dancer's fingernail panels on the corners pop out to reveal bolt heads?
Or am I wrong?
Hi!
I've recently bought a 66 plate Aygo X-Play. I'm delighted with it so far but today I noticed a ridge under the fabric of the passenger seat. It feels like something plastic, possibly part of the seatbelt sensor. Do you think this would be something covered under the warranty? My worry is that it will damage the fabric if the seat as it feels like it could work its way through
Its actually loose but the nut that holds it on has seized and the wiper just flops down, I am wary of forcing it in case the rear screen cracks.
I have oiled and wd40 the seized nut to no avail.
I am thinking my next option would be to try and access internally from the rear screen if I can grip something internally I can put more pressure on the external nut, how does the cover come off that shrouds the internal parts? Is it just a push fit as there are no screws.
How is this done in a 2014 Aygo (new shape).
Is it a dealer update or is there a cheaper way ?
Thanks
Thought I'd see what input I get on this one, small issue but annoys me at times.
I purchased my aygo with the front bumper sticking out a little on the passenger side where it meets the fender. I assume it took a knock at some point.
Anyway, I swapped the bumper bracket out for a new genuine part last year, but it made no difference, maybe the bumpers been distorted in some way.
Any ideas on a fix? I thought about finding a way to wedge it in with something, maybe screw it from some where? Or are there any racing stick on latch type things that might push it in place?
